East Kentwood Shuts Down Kalamazoo United 8-0

Tyler Layle gets two goals, East Kentwood shines on defense to come up with the shutout win

In a shutout, East Kentwood got the better of Kalamazoo United 8 - zero at Kentwood Arena on Tuesday. East Kentwood tallied up three goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. East Kentwood gained two unanswered goals in the second period and held on to its lead. It would prove to be too much for Kalamazoo United. In the final period East Kentwood scored three consecutive goals padding its lead and winning the game.

East Kentwood's Tyler Layle got two goals for East Kentwood and also had one helper. During the third period, Layle netted a goal with an assist from Walker Aurand. Next, Layle netted an unassisted goal in the third period. East Kentwood's Austin Adams made two goals for East Kentwood. During the first period, Adams scored a goal without any assistance. During the first period, Adams netted a second goal with an assist from Adam Goudelock. Cam Mowery, Trent Bravata, Jan (Honza) Koluch, and Noah Baldwin each added one goal for East Kentwood.

In the crease, East Kentwood's Zack Casavant blocked no shots while allowing seven goals to earn the win.

Kalamazoo United finished the game with a record of 0-2.
