Niko Michos impresses with a goal, Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC effective on defense to get a victory

Both defenses battled it out, but Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC finished off Ann Arbor Skyline 1 - 0 at Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Thursday. Neither team managed to score in the first period. Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC took the lead in the second period with one goal. The Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC defense took over in the final period. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC protected its lead, and was the winner.

In the second period, Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC put points on the board when Niko Michos got the puck past goalie Ethan Hiltner with assists from Louis Marr and Anthony Moran, with 16:07 left in the period.

Having a perfect day, Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC's Karl Gage had 19 saves to gain the win. Despite having a standout day, Ann Arbor Skyline's Ethan Hiltner had 46 saves and so suffered the loss.

Ann Arbor Pioneer SEC added to their current win streak of three games and ended up with a record of 20-6. Ann Arbor Skyline ended the game with a record of 13 wins and 17 losses.
