Tyler Layle nets two goals as East Kentwood makes forwards' life difficult to prevail

East Kentwood got the better of Unity Knights 6 - 1 at Kentwood Arena on Thursday. East Kentwood scored two unanswered goals to take the lead in the first period. In the middle period, East Kentwood scored two goals to Unity Knights's one and kept the lead. East Kentwood's defense shut down Unity Knights for the rest of the game. In the final period East Kentwood scored two goals adding to the margin of victory and winning the game.

East Kentwood's Tyler Layle netted two goals for East Kentwood. East Kentwood's Layle lit the lamp in the first period with an assist from Brendan VanSweden. This was the nail in the coffin for East Kentwood. During the first period, Layle netted a power play goal with an assist from Cam Mowery. Blake Hinds, Adam Goudelock, and Alex Birkman each added one goal for East Kentwood.

Leading the way for East Kentwood, Zack Casavant turned away 15 shots to earn the win.

East Kentwood ended the game with a record of 13 wins and 12 losses. Unity Knights ended the game with a record of 0-2.
