Jacob Harrie led the Manistee boys ice hockey team to a 5-2 victory over Lowell/Caledonia/South Christian, with two goals and one assist on Saturday.

Cody Berkeo, Antti Vanhatlo and Will Shriver each scored a goal for Manistee. Mason Clark made 20 saves on 22 shots on goal.

Manistee fired 27 shots on goal at L/C/SC goaltender Nick Oostra and kept the pressure on him throughout the game.

"I'm happy with Nick's performance today," L/C/SC coach Tim Beurer said. "He made a couple of acrobatic saves to keep the game in reach as much as he could."

L/C/SC's Josh Riemersma and Josh Dillon each had a goal, while Oostra made 22 saves.

"Early on in the season we are struggling at staying consistent, but I'm happy to see that we're creating more shots on goal," Beurer said. "Great level of effort out of the guys a day after a tough loss."

Conference season begins for L/C/SC as they face Grand Rapids Northview on Dec. 6.

"We've been trying to expose our team to a lot of different opportunities," Beurer said. "We still have some things to work on, but the effort is there so far."
