Rochester United blanks Clarkston

ROCHESTER – The Rochester United boys hockey team opened the OAA Red portion of their schedule with a convincing 5-0 win over the visiting Clarkston Wolves Friday night.

Rochester struck early, scoring on the game’s first shift when Marshall Bowery pounced on a rebound in the crease and lifted it into the top of the net to stake United to a 1-0 lead just 36 seconds into the game and set the tone for the night.

“You can’t give the puck up the first five minutes of the period, especially at the beginning of the game. That just brings the morale down, the excitement down,” Wolves head coach Bryan Krygier said.
