Monday’s Prep Roundup: Walled Lake Western earns victory in hockey action

FRASER - Zach Malles scored a pair of goals and Walled Lake Western edged Grosse Pointe North, 5-4, in early-season hockey action Monday.

Steven Fillip, Rees Dobbs and Taylor Blome each added one to lead the Warriors to their season-opening victory.

Joe Cooper picked up a pair of assists, with Josh Mitchell and Chris Donaldson picking up one apiece in the victory. Anders Elmblad made 28 saves to get the win in goal for Western (1-0). Nick Cusmano scored twice, while Michael Molitor and Brendan Nelson each scored once for North (0-1).
