Howell unleashed its potent offense Friday against Lakeland and the Eagles had little response in a 9-0 loss at Grand Oaks Arena.

Howell outshot Lakeland 12-2 in the opening period and cruised to a 3-0 lead.

Goals came 2:39 in, 4:28 in and 7:01 into the first.

The second period was twice as bad, as Howell put the game away with six goals to end the game on the mercy rule.

Howell scored four times in the first 6:02 of the period and added goals with 7:36 to play and with 13 seconds to play in the second.

Adam Szymanski started and stopped 10 of 14 shots. Brandon Pomerleau finished the game, stopping four of nine shots.

Howell posted 23 shots, while Lakeland managed seven.

The Eagles fall to 3-8, while Howell improves to 7-4.
