ROCHESTER HILLS - Things weren't going all that well for the Oakland Activities Association at Saturday's OAA/Metro League Showcase in Rochester Hills.

Through six games, the Metro League had won the first six games, outscoring their foes 34-12 in the process.

Let's just say, Rochester United stopped the bleeding. The unified club picked up a 3-2 win over Birmingham Detroit Country Day to get their league on the board. It actually helped kick start things for the OAA, which picked up three more victories soon after (Birmingham Unified, Lake Orion and Berkley).

Michael Rittner, Matt Hawke and Griffin Harper each scored goals to lead Rochester United to the win. Rittner and Hawke have combined for 26 goals this season.

Carter Elrod scored both of Country Day's goals. Harrison Dunbar and Tim Stebbins each had an assist.

"This was a very, very good high school hockey game," Yellowjackets coach Frank Novock said.
