An overtime goal by Wyatt Radakovitz sent the program to a 3-2 win over Muskegon Mona Shores in a Division 2 quarterfinal game Tuesday at Ferris State University.

FH Northern/Eastern (19-8-2 overall) will face Saline in a semifinal match Thursday at 5 p.m. at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth. Saline also needed overtime to defeat Livonia Churchill, 5-4.

"We scouted Mona Shores and talked to people that had played them," FH Northern/Eastern coach Thomas Bissett said. "Last year we had just three seniors and we have four this year, so we're still a relatively young team. We're continuing to get better, and I'm just extremely proud of the guys for weathering the storm."

Northern/Eastern held a 2-0 lead going into the third period, but the lead disappeared quickly when Brandon Ledyard struck for two goals to tie the score.

"He scored early, and we took a penalty on the next shift and the second score came 10 seconds after the power play," Bissett said.

Keeper Brenden Bogema recovered and stopped 17 of 19 shots for the win.

"The nice thing is it feels like we're building some momentum," Bissett said. "I don't know anything about Saline now, but we're working on doing some scouting."

Joel Brandinger and Nathan Nickelson also scored for FH Northern/Eastern.
