Taking a look at some of the first-round action across the state

The MHSAA Hockey tournament is back and the SC! Power Play Podcast hit the road this week as Jonathon Kidd and Sean Bali were live from a couple of playoff openers this week, including the Division 1 game between Detroit Catholic Central High School and Northville High School and Sean caught up with Shamrock head coach Brandon Kaleniecki to discuss his team's 8-0 win over the Mustangs on Monday night!

Jon and Sean also recapped several of the top games that took place across the state on Monday, including Cranbrook Schools' win over Troy, Brighton Hockey's win over Howell and Riverview Gabriel Richard Pioneers Hockey Team's win over Theodore Roosevelt High School (Wyandotte)! The guys were back on the road on Tuesday night for the Division 2 showdown between Stevenson High School's win over Plymouth Wildcats Athletic Department and were joined by Ben Szilagy to recap Stevenson's thrilling win and which teams could challenge for the Division 2 title, like the defending D-2 state champs, Brother Rice High School, Bloomfield, MichiganHartland High School and Forest Hills Northern High SchoolForest Hills Eastern High School before recapping some of Tuesday's top games, including University Liggett School knocking off the defending Division 3 state champs, De La Salle Collegiate High SchoolHancock Central High School topping Houghton High School!

After the game, Sean caught up with Stevenson head coach David Mitchell to discuss his squad's big win and what is in store for his team for the rest of the state tournament! To close out the show, Jon and Sean talk about Stevenson netminder Will Tragge's chances to win the National Coney Island Hockey Player of the Year Award and then preview the top games in the state that will be taking place on Thursday, including Saline High School vs. Trenton High School and Official: Lake Orion High School vs. Eisenhower High School (Michigan)!
