Grosse Pointe South senior Adam Pitters scored a goal and assist in NAHL Aberdeen’s 5-2 win over Minnesota on Saturday. That win tied the second-round series 2-2 in a best-of-five, with the decisive Game 5 set for Monday at 7:05 p.m.

In his eighth playoff game with the Wings, Pitters picked up a secondary assist on the team’s third goal midway through the second period. Then later, he tallied his third goal of the playoffs, putting Aberdeen up 4-2 with 11:29 left in the third period.

In a series that has gone back and forth — with Game 1 being decided in double overtime — it all comes down to Monday night’s game for Pitters and the Wings. They will look to join Aston, Janesville and Lone Star in the semifinal round of the NAHL playoffs, something Pitters has experienced before playing in eight MHSAA state playoff games — including two regional finals and a semifinal in 2015 — for Grosse Pointe South.

Pitters and Aberdeen teammate Logan Jenuwine (Romeo, 2016) along with Aston’s Jack Leavy (Brother Rice, 2013), Janesville’s Lordanthony Grissom (University Liggett, 2014) and Derek Schaedig (Chelsea, 2016) as well as Lonestar’s Alec Calvaruso (Detroit Catholic Central, 2015) are the remaining MI-HS alumni still active in the NAHL playoffs.
